Race Team

Pinnacle Race Team

RFC’s top-tier program for elite-level junior xc racers. The Pinnacle Race team is a comprehensive training and racing program for high school-aged riders that want to pursue xc racing at their highest level.

The Pinnacle Race team is an optimized combination of group training rides and private, elite-level coaching. The Race team will do sustained training sessions in agile groups. Participants will target a schedule of notable CO races like the Gunnison Growler, Bailey Hundito, Emerald Mountain Epic, Rattler Racing events, and National level UCI Junior series events. The level and interests of the group will dictate racing opportunities for 2022. Each rider will be encouraged to develop a plan that motivates them.

The 2022 program will commence in early February with TrainingPeaks (TP) prescribed indoor sessions and weather permitting, Sunday group rides. Beginning in March riders will have two group rides and three power-based, solo sessions a week. A three-day training camp in Fruita is tentatively planned for late March or early April.

All training is prescribed, tracked, and analyzed with TrainingPeaks. Race team riders need TrainingPeaks Premium, an HR monitor, a power meter on their XC bike, an appropriate head unit (Garmin, Wahoo), and an indoor trainer – ideally with a power meter.

Program dates: Feb 27th – Mid August

Program cost: $360 per month

*Traveling race support is an additional cost.*
